The HEATSHIFT Cluster: Accelerating the Shift to Clean Industrial Heating

In a time when industrial decarbonisation is critical to achieving Europe’s climate and energy goals, we are proud to be a founding member of the newly launched HEATSHIFT Cluster: Shifting Industry Towards Clean Heating.

This collaborative initiative brings together a group of ambitious EU-funded Horizon Europe projects – JOULIA, CARBOWAVE, FLEXHYON, ModHEATech, and METAWAVE – all working on innovative approaches to electrify and decarbonise industrial heating processes across diverse sectors.

While each project addresses unique technological and industrial challenges, we are united by a shared ambition: to transform how heat is generated and used in European industry. With a strong focus on energy efficiency, renewable integration, and digital innovation, HEATSHIFT is set to accelerate the transition toward climate-neutral heat systems.

We believe that collaboration is key to real impact. The HEATSHIFT Cluster was created to:

• Amplify the collective voice of clean heating initiatives across Europe

• Coordinate communication and dissemination through joint events, webinars, and shared campaigns

• Exchange expertise, challenges, and best practices among projects

• Maximise results by identifying shared research priorities

• Strengthen engagement with industry stakeholders, policymakers, and potential adopters

By fostering this level of collaboration, HEATSHIFT goes beyond visibility – it’s about building a true community of innovation in industrial heating.

HEATSHIFT is open to other projects and initiatives aligned with its mission, and aims to grow into a broader platform for cooperation in industrial heating electrification. Together, we represent a critical mass of European innovation committed to clean, efficient, and future-ready heat systems.
