The METAWAVE project at ENLIT Europe 2025
We were proud to take part in Enlit Europe 2025 in Bilbao, one of Europe’s key meeting points for energy innovation, industrial decarbonisation, and collaboration across the value chain.

Our participation aimed to raise awareness of METAWAVE and its microwave-based heating technologies, designed to decarbonise high-temperature industrial processes and support Europe’s energy transition. Enlit Europe offered a unique platform to present our approach, exchange ideas, and engage directly with organised stakeholders, including industry players, technology providers, policymakers, and fellow EU-funded projects.
Through networking, bilateral meetings, and the EU Projects Zone, METAWAVE strengthened its visibility, gathered valuable feedback, and explored synergies with initiatives working toward carbon-neutral energy-intensive industries.
Together with our partners, METAWAVE continues to contribute to a greener, more resilient, and energy-efficient European industry.

The METAWAVE Project at AMPERE 2025
The METAWAVE Project actively participated in AMPERE 2025, a leading international conference on microwave and RF technologies, taking part in the Industry Day – a special one-day event entirely dedicated to industrial applications of these technologies.
During the event, METAWAVE showcased its research results through:
- Poster “Microwave-assisted electrification of High-Temperature Industrial Processes in the Ceramic, Asphalt and Aluminum Sectors”, developed in collaboration with UMORE, ITA, FUM, GRES, and METLEN.

- Two oral presentations:
- Microwave heating system for industrial asphalt production and recycling: Towards Electrified and Sustainable Processing (ITA)
- Microwave and Induction Baking of Anodes for aluminum melting (UMORE)

The Industry Day brought together end-users, industrial experts, and researchers, creating a valuable platform for exchanging ideas and accelerating the industrial adoption of microwave and RF technologies. METAWAVE’s contributions underscored the potential of electrification technologies to enhance efficiency and sustainability in energy-intensive sectors — from greener asphalt production to more innovative aluminum processing methods.
The event also provided an opportunity for fruitful discussions with the project’s International Advisory Board, exploring pathways to strengthen results and maximize real-world impact.
